Hello there!

                                                                      I'm Maria Rupert, and have had a long history with the Erie                                                               County Area Safety Council, starting in 1999, serving in various                                                       chairs on the board of directors.  Due to a job change, I have                                                           been absent from the group for 10 years, and after my                                                                     retirement, was asked to rejoin the board.

 

                                                   I have worked 40 years in the field of employee safety and                                                               health, in various private and public sectors. These duties                                                                 included monitoring for radioactive contaminants in a                                                                       gaseous diffusion uranium enrichment plant; enforcing safety regulation as an OSHA compliance officer managing workplace safety in a large food distribution center; serving as the Accident Prevention Coordinator for Erie County; and most recently as a PERRP compliance officer for the BWC.

 

I currently live in Huron Ohio, and am enjoying my retirement freedom by traveling, biking, and painting with watercolors in my home studio.  As an avid reader, I belong to 4 different book clubs. 

 

The Erie County Safety Council is a cause near and dear to my heart, and I am happy to be a part of its continued success.
